Description: The “Ear Hook I.” is a unique creation story. Being in lock down, Alex has faced many challenges going back and forth to her studio. When she was finally able to seize the opportunity to be there, she locked herself in her studio and discovered endless creations she made when first starting her silversmithing craft. This is when she decided that anything new to be released were to be recycled silver from previous creations she no longer needed or had forgotten about. The Ear Hook I. is made of previous silver projects she no longer felt relevant.
The Earring Hook I. was initially inspired by a recent inquiry asking if the Metal Atelier offered earrings. During that time, the earring backings weren’t 100% ready, so she thought “why not make something that anyone could wear?” Then she created a universal fit of ear couture for those who do or don’t have their earrings pierced.
What Alex loves most about this piece is how many ways the wearer can style this piece. It is also light enough that the wearer can easily adjust the ear hook to fit however they may please by gently squeezing the opening.
The Ear Hook I. brought her back to one of the first creations she ever made, which inspired the next design within this collection, “Dipped In Silver Cuff II.” The story for this piece is in the Dipped In Silver Cuff II. product description.
